Heeral Trivedi
With every transition in life, there is a shift in perspectives. It is this process of change which is an on-going element of Heeral's paintings.
Through her works, one is walking backwards in time, retracing with images that seem to constantly move positions. And yet at the end of the journey, one finds oneself positioned at the same place, where nothing seems to have changed.
Heeral's works evidently present a "female point of view", painting women in their domestic environ. Her nature of redrawing/ repeating succeeds in creating a misty quality that seems to seal different meanings underneath the layers.
Prasanta Sahu
Prasanta's paintings seem to work like mediators between the self as an individual and the media presented reality.
He paints "packaged" images of crowds and masses which appear to be masked with a precision of surface and colour such that there remains no individual identity. Striving to bring a certain plasticity (with the help of a computer) , it represents the visual conditioning created through T. V. and daily newspapers and other media.
